Right Lead Equestrian Center is located on a 15 acre track of land in Sunshine, LA (St. Gabriel) on Bayou Paul Lane just south of East Baton Rouge Parish in Iberville Parish. 

The property is fenced and cross fenced with 5' high post and round rail.  Water is run to every paddock and there are two large run in sheds for shelter.  The property is 550' feet deep with over 1,100 feet of frontage and has established Bermuda grass. It is also less than 1/2 mile from the Mississippi River which affords the opportunity for long levee rides.

We have all our show jumps in place and are developing plans for several cross country jumps.  We moved several large logs in place offering solid 2'6" and 3' jumps for our clients, and normally when Rick is not at his main job more things get done around the farm.

The office/tack room is complete.  Built by Rick it is 12x24 with a 6ft front porch.  The inside has 8ft ceiling and the second story has 6'6" clearance.  The interior is air conditioned with stained walls, a linoleum floor racks for 30 saddles and 60 bridles.  Rick also recently finished the covered concrete wash rack off the back of the tack room.  One of the next projects involves building two tack up bays on the long side of the building.

As of now we do not have a barn.  There are plans, but we're in no hurry for the additional work and increased board that a barn would bring.  Actually, polling our clients, most see a dramatic change in their horses from leaving them out "free range".  Yes there is a pecking order which may be tested from time to time, but we find the horses are better mannered and well fit.  To help combat the often muddy feeding area we plan on installing standing stalls in the paddocks.  This will offer the horses a dry and sheltered place to eat and will offer additional refuge from inclement weather.

The property is located on the river side of Hwy 30 and is easily accessible from Baton Rouge via Bluebonnet or Alligator Bayou Road (which is now mostly blacktop).  Bayou Paul Lane is located 1.3 miles south of the University Club subdivision and is marked by a traffic light.
