IMATEN or "Emma" is a Cleveland Bay/Thoroughbred cross (Cleveland Bay Sporthorse) mare standing 16.0hh owned by Michelle Bergeron. When we found her in Mississippi she already had an impressive record as a jumper and a hunter. We introduced her to eventing and boy did she like to run and jump on the cross country course. Little known to us at the time was the rarity of the Cleveland Bay. There are only ~ 350 pure bred Cleveland Bays in the world and only ~ 51 in America (more info HERE, and HERE). We knew we loved Emma's disposition and her abilities and found that both are pretty standard from the Cleveland Bay lines. Wanting to continue the tradition we bred her to Ridegmor Farms' pure CB stallion Stainmore Wolfhound in spring of 2007. We then did embryo transfer using Flashy as the recipient mare. We're expecting a healthy filly foal in the Spring 2008! Because of the rarity of the Cleveland Bay and Emma's knack for going with the flow Michelle is often asked to do demonstrations in and out of state. We've even traveled as far as Kentucky Horse Park for BreyerFest for the last several years to help represent the Cleveland Bay breed. Michelle shows Emma primarily in eventing and dressage but the pair has been known to frequent the jumper and hunter arenas, hunter paces, and side saddle demonstrations. Michelle and Emma have been featured in several magazines. One of the latest is Art Horse Magazine which featured an article on Cleveland Bay horses. Michelle and Emma were pictured several times and mentioned as an example of the versatility of the breed (Eventing). Several of Rick's pictures from Bryerfest were featured as well.
