So what do you do when it rains for a week solid and the temperature plummets to nearly it's lowest all winter? You hold a horse show of course. First and foremost we are eternally grateful to the wonderful competitors, spectators, helpers, and everyone who helped with this show. In all our years of showing we've never witnessed such teamwork. We moved the dressage portion into the indoors before the start of the show because of sloppy footing, and hoped the stadium footing would improve. It didn't. With the help of dozens of people we managed to break down the Dressage arena once that phase was finished and rebuild the stadium course inside (thanks to some quick course re-designing by Amy Conner). Although it made for a rather late evening, we managed to get all the horses through. On Sunday, in spite of mother nature adding several of her own water elements to the course the footing held true and Cross Country was held. Again, thanks to everyone who helped to pull this event off, from all those who pitched in before the show, all the wonderful volunteers, spectators, and competitors who helped during the show, all those who sat in the cold manning a cross country jump, the coordinators, etc. There were literally hundreds of people who pulled together to make this show their show.
